It's time to stop messing around and get serious about losing the weight. The time is now
and I am the person who has to do the work.

Long Time No See

First and foremost, I have to apologize for being so absent from this blog. It seems like since I took the contributing writer job at Shrinking Jeans, I rarely am over here. That all changes now. I miss this blog. This is where the weight loss and fitness journey really started to click for me. This is where I found the courage to do the Exposed post. This is where I need to get back to writing at again. I hope someone is still out there to listen.

I had a true adventure last weekend. I had my first real press event for the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans. I covered the Self Magazine Workout in the Park in Chicago. I had so much fun. It was an amazing day. Here's just a few high points.

I got to work out with women of every size, shape and fitness level. I did a Pilates Fusion class. I had forgotten how much I liked pilates and how it can kick my butt. My abs were sore for days. I also did Reebok Tighten and Tone class. Again, totally kicked my butt. I did several of the classes that were always going on at the main stage.

I knew when I went that I was going to have the chance to interview a rep from Self magazine. What I didn't know was that while I was waiting for them to find her...I got to meet Alison Sweeney. I got to talk to her and get my picture taken with her. She was amazing and so sweet and friendly. She was talking about the Biggest Loser finale and how she loves coming to events like Workout in the Park.

I even got to work out with Alison. She was so down to earth. She didn't care who wanted to talk to her or take her picture. She was open to everyone. She was awesome!

There were some funny parts to the day. This work out was too funny for words. I wish I could tell you what I called it, but that would be mean.

The day was so much more than I ever expected it to be. I even had a VIP wristband. Me...a VIP! My daughter and one of my best friends went with me. We all had a blast. The swag was wonderful and our bags were overflowing by the time we left. The weather threatened rain all day, but it never did. It was a day that I won't forget for a long time.

Last but not least, my zumba and boot camp instructor started a fitness website. You should check it out. I love it and her!

I don't know why the comment link is down so far and won't come up, but it's down there. Please leave me a comment if you visit. Then I'll know that someone was here. Thanks.
