Personal Goals with Help

It's been over a week since I have been here. It's hard getting back in the the swing of going to work and getting all the other things done as well. Once I get it all worked out, I really do get more done. It's just getting back in the swing of it that takes a little time.

I had an awesome conversation on Facebook tonight with my fitness instructor. She has offered to be my personal coach. Not my personal trainer, I can't afford that. Here is what she is proposing....

1. Weekly check-ins, not weigh ins though. I do those at Shrinking Jeans.
2. Help me monitor my progress
3. Talk about any set backs and how to over come them
4. Help me move forward towards reaching my goals
5. Help me write out training plans

I'm going to try it. I feel bad because she doesn't want anything to do this. She said it's not about money for her. It is about helping people reach their goals and she totally means it. She is that awesome a person.

I'm moving along with the C25K program. I just finished week 3 today. I keep waiting for it to get a little easier, but so far that hasn't happened yet. That's okay though because I am not quitting. I will run the whole Run the Hood 5k if it kills me.

Although I haven't blogged about it, I have been doing meal planning. I did it last week and I planned this weeks meals today. It certainly makes it easier now that I am back at work.

Has anyone else watched the new Ali Vincent show on the Live Well network? It just started last week. I really liked it. I met her last winter. I just wish I would have been writing for Shrinking Jeans then so I might have been able to interview her. I did get to meet her and get my picture taken with her though. Here's the link to that post from last November. She was awesome and so inspirational. I wish I had her talk on tape to listen to it again.

  1. I think those goals all sound great. Also, you are doing so well with C25k - I KNOW you will finish it!

  2. Nancy you will kick but in the c25k I know it ! You are very determined. Remember it is always hard in the begining. You should have seen me run 3 years ago when I started. I had to build on to get to a mile. Keep plugging away and remember I am here for whatever you need. You will do great !

  3. I love your motivation, Nancy. I feel like you've really got your 'ducks in a row'. (And if any of them are slightly out of line, you're figuring out how to rein them back in.)
    Good luck on the 5K, but you won't need it. I know you're going to rock it!
